Eligibility

1. Chanting sixteen rounds and following the four regulative principles.

2. You must be recommended by local ISKCON Temple President/ Authority who knows you very well, certifying that you have been engaged favorably in the preaching mission of Lord Chaitanya for the past one year.

3. If you have completed part of Bhakti Shastri course from your local temple and because of some reasons, you had to move to another city or country and you wish to complete remaining part of Bhakti Shastri using online system at our site, then you need to send us the reports of the completed modules of Bhakti Shastri to the Bhakti Shastri admin at bhakticourses.bs@iskcon.net

This shall help us to update your previous reports in our system to make a final report from the system.
In this case, you need to pay a complete fee for the online Bhakti Shastri course at the site.

01. Multiple choice quizzes (MCQs) (15 % weightage)

Please study the video lessons to attempt the MCQs.

These quizzes are based on the video lessons and also based on books.

The grades of MCQs are automatically calculated by the system.

While you are attempting the multiple-choice quiz, you shall see total number of questions on left panel and also the countdown counter.

Once you attempt any question, the color of the question number on the left shall get highlighted to light gray.

Unattempted questions remain white in color.

You can change the choice of any question, before finally submitting the quiz.

After you submit the quiz, you shall see your marks (calculated by the system) appearing in the grade book.

Each question is for one minute and carries one mark.

There are two attempts for each MCQ.

You may attempt full quiz once or twice.

The highest grade between the two attempts shall be considered as your final grade for that MCQ.

There are a total 5-6 MCQs per module.

02. Open Book Assignments (40 % weightage)

We have included all the open book assignments in the system.

Please do not send any open book assignments by email.

When you are submitting the open book assignments in the system, you can send as an online text by typing your answers or you can submit as an attachment.

Open Book Assignments answer sheet drafts can be saved in the system.

There is only one attempt for any assignments, therefore you may thoroughly check before submitting your open book assignments answer sheets.

When you click the final ‘Add Submission’ button, then assignment submission shall be considered final and you won’t be able to make any changes.

There is manual grading for the open book assignments, therefore after you submit the open book assignments, grades shall not immediately appear in the grade book till teacher (or tutor) gives manual grading.

He/she may give response to your answers.

03. Closed book exam (45 % weightage)

After completing the MCQs for all videos and open book assignments for that module, you can apply for closed book exam (45 % weightage)

After you have successfully passed the first module, we shall enroll you for second module and so on in a similar fashion.

Assessment

When you are studying each module, you will follow three steps.

Step 1: You shall attempt the MCQs as they appear during the course.

Step 2: You shall submit the ‘Open Book Assignments’ as they appear during the course.

Step 3: You shall appear for ‘Closed Book Exam’ for that module within one week of step 2 in the presence of the ISKCON Temple President/Authority who has certified about you.

Please see that your authority submits your closed book exam paper in pdf format and sends to us at bhakticourses.bs@iskcon.net with all the details of the candidate.

Scoring system:

For each module the marks will be distributed as follows.

MCQs : 15%

Open book assignments: 40%

Closed book exams: 45%

You will be considered to have passed the module if you get at least 65% marks.

(The grade for each module will be sent within three weeks after the closed book exam is over.)

Certification:
In order to get the certificate, you will have to pass the exams with minimum of overall 65%
Once you have passed, an e-certificate will be available at the end of the course for you to download.

Security and authenticity of certificate
For security and authenticity of certificate, there shall be one system-generated alphanumeric code printed on each certificate.
This is unique feature our certification system.
This shall avoid any duplication of the certificates with users of same name.
We are maintaining records of all certificates issued.

In case, you lose the copy of certificate, you may again download from the system.
It shall be printed with same unique code.
Please do not send any request for issuing new certificate to system admin or course admin.

Following certificate shall be available at the end of the course for each student to download.

The successful candidates shall receive following certificate from Board of Examinations as the final certificate for completing Bhakti Shastri course in English.

Chaitanya Charan is a monk, mentor and spiritual author. He has done his Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering from the Government College of Engineering, Pune. He subsequently served as a software engineer in a prominent multinational software corporation. He also secured 2350 out of 2400 in GRE, gaining the top rank in Maharashtra.

The online course allowed me the unique ability to perform at my own pace. Having already completed Bhakti Vaibhav before pursuing Bhakti Shastri, I wanted to complete the course at a swift pace which the online program offered. Any questions that I had were quickly and competently handled by Raas Bhakti mataji. The process was so full proof that none of my answer papers were lost as may happen in some offline course due to human intervention. We had access to record of all the answer sheets we uploaded and also would be able to see the status on each paper with regards to where it was in the correction process. Additionally, many paths of self-study such as videos and well-made reading study materials and quizzes were available to get us to the level of attempting a closed book exam. For me in person I would avoid long videos and rather read notes at a quick pace because I was pursuing Bhakti Vedanta at the same time and had to crunch in time to do both simultaneously. I started in March and completed all four topics in July in under four months. All this was only possible because of the sturdy online platform, and most wonderful person who was available almost anytime to clarify certain thing which I could not understand online or needed handholding to understand the process upfront or along the way or even some doubts that I would have from the notes.

I am thankful to the entire online team for having provided me such an efficient platform where I could complete my Bhakti Shastri in under four months compared to two years or so that I confirmed in few offline centers.
